Fellow Readers,
Here is the reading schedule for Part I, which sets the stage for the rest of the book. If you would like, please feel free to read ahead. But for discussion, concentrate on the scheduled segment. The idea is to finish reading and writing up your thoughts by the suggested date. I will try to post some discussion questions (which I hope to get from Professor Meerson, and maybe Spark Notes or something like that) ahead of time. Also, if you come up with discussion questions of your own, feel free to post them for the group to consider (or send them to me, and I will include them in the general dQ list).
Without further ado, let the reading begin!
By Monday, October 10th: read through section IV of Part I (~60 pgs).
By Monday, October 17th: read through section X of Part I (~60 pgs).
By Monday, October 24th: read through the end of Part I (~75 pgs).
Cheers!

Anya, thank you for spreading out the reading schedule!
ReplyDeleteI think that weekly segment due dates is a good pace - I'm sure we'll see from people's posting frequency if we need to spread it out further or if everyone's a quick reader :)
Question: So we don't have to wait for the "due date" of a segment to post thoughts, right?
I would suggest labeling each of the posts not only with key words, but also with the relevant segment (ex: "Part 1 Sections I-IV").
Then you can a gadget with Links - and have a url per label. This will enable people to see all the posts per segment with a single click :)
Definitely no need to wait till the due date to post. In fact you can start an entry and edit/update it as you go. It is probably a great idea to have some kind of comprehensive title for the links, but I think it would be easier to go with dates. So all replies to the first assignment could be labeled "October 10." Let's see if that works.
